• He was the spark that lit the fire of revoltution on the farm
• Died before he could see the revolution take place
• Had alot of credibility with the animals, they listened to what he had to say
• Did the same as Marx and Lenin spreading his idea but not seeing it completed
• His speech can be compared to the Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx
• His speech is also comparable to the book The State and Revolution written by Vladimir Lenin
• Old Majors skull was preserved and used as a monument in the orchard
• Old Major left the animals with the song the beast of England this can be compared to the end of Karl Marx book the communist Manifesto where he leaves the people with a revolutionary message

Vladimir Lenin is a second parrallel to Old Major

Vladimir Ilich Lenin

• Born on April 10, 1870, in Simbirsk, Russia
• Died on January 21, 1924, near Moscow
• Brother was hanged for involvment in a plot to kill the Czar
• Founder of the Bolshevik Politicle Party
• He was a Marxist; a supporter of the German writer Karl Marx
• He was acclaimed as “the greatest genius of mankind,and creator of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union"
• Lenin was appalled by the decision of most socialists in Europe to support the war effort
• He now devoted his energies to campaign to turn the "imperialist war into a civil war"
• This included the publication of his book, Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism
• Lenin arranged for the distribution of propaganda that urged Allied troops to turn their rifles against their officers and start a socialist revolution
• When lenin spoke large crowds accumulated
• Lenin's body was preserved after his death and to this day is in a monument in Red Square in Moscow, Russia

Karl Marx	Presented the idea of communisim	Died in 1883 before the revolution started. Gave the people the initial idea for revolution and communisim.
Old Major	Presented the idea of animalisim	Died three days before the overthrow of the humans. Skull was kept as a monument.
Vladimir Lenin	Spread socialist propaganda	Wrote the book The state and Revolution, comparable to Old Majors speech. Body was preserved after death.
